I seem to be able to access Email in BB10 only from the Hub. Is this the only way , without any third party Apps?
Is there no short cut for Email apart from the Hub?

There is a shortcut on the homescreen that opens the Hub if you don't want to use gestures. Is this what you need?

Depending on who your email provider is you could always download / sideload the app for their services, such as outlook and so forth.

I don't think any shortcut could be shorter than accessing the hub

my gmail is my primary email acct which is within my hub but I also have a Yahoo! acct that I do not wish to be notified on. I just have a shortcut to that inbox (mobile site) on my 1st app page. If you go this route you may have to log-in once in a while but this is a good way to go if you don't want an acct within your hub

An easier and more elegant way is to keep the Yahoo! account in the Hub and change the sync interval to manual. New emails will only show up when you hit the refresh button.
