...from a complete shutdown/reboot? I doubt this. I will check with my daughter when she gets home with her iPhone5 at 6:30pm EST.

Besides boot times are easy to fix and only load essential services first and a delayed start on everything else. Reason the playbook takes forever is the fact it loads everything all at once.

Ok, so BB10 seems comparable to the competition.

It's something existing BB users can appreciated as it's a HUGE improvement for them, but it's nothing worth advertising in general.

Agreed. If we look at the 40sec mark in the post 15 video, he touches an iPhone 5 app 2 times and nothing happens. It's not completely ready.
I don't consider a device boot complete until I can use anything and everything on it that I want/need.

Anything faster than the playbook is an improvement. On the dev alpha, there was a build where the bootup was very very fast (like 20 seconds fast). Hopefully the final release build of bb10 will be closer to that...

does it really matter if its not quite as fast as the iphone or androids? its a heck of a lot better than the 5+ it took most of the old java OS BBs took. Anything under 1 minutes is great in my book

I just did a test on my iPhone 4S. It booted in 25 seconds.

I'm personally less concerned with reboot times in this day and age because my devices don't reboot in terms of practical day-to-day use. I'll only reboot my iPhone, iPod or PlayBook if they start acting funny. None of them need to reboot when installing an app like my old BlackBerry phones did so I'm seldom seeing a reboot screen on any of them in comparison.
