People want supersized cell phones, new study shows

In fact popularity of a Galaxy nexus and success of Samsung Note means that RIM can afford to make it's next BB10 a bit wider with a larger screen.

    Current 9900 width = 2.6"

    Galaxy Nexus width = 2.66"

    Samsung Note width = 3.3 "

BB10 9900 width = 2.7". Having a slightly larger width will also allow BB10 9900 display size to be slightly bigger.I think most users would appreciate if the display size is closer to 3.1 inches.

    Thoughts?

Agreed. Slightly bigger isn't so bad. So long as blackberry keeps making a full keyboard version of their phones, that's what I'm gonna be buying. Personally, I HATE virtual keyboards on phones... Love the one on this BP tho

Okay, you dragged me into this with your title, I dream of one day owing a BB 9900 with BB10 on it, when you suggest a 10% larger package, this to me would be the best phone on the planet!

I love this phone, I switched back to BB after trying out the iPhone 4 and I'm so glad I dumped that thing.

Continue to add more features to this concept so I have something to dream about until Q1 2013!!!! Thanks

That would be cool, but nothing too big because some of us have small hands but Enjoy the Biggest experience yet in a phone.

it will be tricky. even if the BB10 Bold is 0.1" wider, the display will be no larger than what we have in the current 9900, due to the 16:9 aspect ratio.

Had Rim removed the blackberry branding above the screen, I think they would have been able to give a us a slightly larger screen from that.

I agree. I saw the concept 9900 and the screen was bigger than the final product. If the did a 9910 (9900 running BB10) with a bit larger screen and the new intel chip the is crazy fast as a single core and the dual core would give BB the battery life everyone loves, I'd say the Bold would be a true upgrade from this one.

I like mine the way it is. I don't want a bigger wider width phone, I don't want one thinner either. If it was the thickness of the 9700, it would be easier to hold. Sometimes it hurts my hands. I don't have big hands anyways, besides, who wants to hold a 4"-6" thing to their head to make a phone call? Remember the N-Gage mockup ads nd videos people posted? Sheesh. But hey, as long as it's not TOO big, I will not mind it at all.

I have a 5" Samsung Player android tablet. It's great. It lives with me 24/7. I love the display size, and I think it's basically a Samsung Note minus the phone innards. However it's a little wide to use as a phone. The virtual keyboard on it SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS. The 9930 width is about right and the hardware keyboard kicks any virtual keyboard to the curb. Yes I have an iPhone 4 too, and it's pathetic to type on in comparison to the 9930.

I *would* like a taller display on the 9930 but I'm not willing to give up the hardware keyboard to get it. It's unfortunate that the BB Torch didn't work out too well. That seemed like a good solution.

Same here. Number one reason why I got the Bold 9900 when everyone I know went for iP4s.

I am happy with the current screen size of the Bold 9900. Note is a good phone for multimedia, but I think it is too big for my needs.

I will always buy BBs with physical keyboards anyway.

The only thing I want with BB10, is a 9900-like phone (same size or close enough) with 24hr battery life under heavy use, and android apps but honestly I really don't care, I just want amazing battery life like on my 9700. I use my phone to communicate and to browse the web, and to listen to music, and that"s about it. We can all have high expectations for BB10 but RIM really need to get the fundamentals down first, what kind of blackberry has only 12hrs of battery life under heavy use? I love my 9930 but ill switch to the BB10 equivelent on day one if the battery life is improved.

But an all metal blackberry would be a nice change! I'm sure the antenna issues can be worked out especially when they are already getting patents on having fuel cells on their phones :S

Yes, yes, and yes make the screen a little bit bigger, I for one don't need to have my provider all over the front of the phone, i.e. Sprint, AT&T, VZ or T-mobile. Move the keyboard down a little, widen a smidge and we will have an increase worth talking about. Like BDKira mention, with the whole fuel cell technology that RIM acquired it would make a physical keyboard all the more better.
Like the saying goes, "If it ain't broke why fix it, but we can improve it"

For sure most peoples here will be looking for a BB10 Device with physical keyboard.
One that does look like the 9900 with a bigger screen, better battery life and so on.
At the moment my 9900 just does the job fine.

I want a pocket sized phone. I hate holsters everyone that uses them looks like a tool (sorry if you are that guy).

I got a tablet for a larger display.

You know what will happen... If BB10 ends up with a larger screen RIM critics will say it is too big.... If they leave it the current size the RIM critics will say it should have been bigger.... Just watch and see at BB10 Launch.....

Personally i'd like both options available to me. when i want to text hardcore then i use the real keyboard, when i want to just play with the phone i use the virtual.
