My recent experience has been that the battery usage claims are a bit exaggerated concerning the BB10 OS. It may simply be the version that I'm using. I recently upgraded to 10.3.1.1779.

I have noticed several apps that will turn on and run in the background, even if I have manually turned them off.

Examples are: Facebook, Android App Store, and Pho.to Lab Pro.

Several other apps seem to turn on at random times, though. ... BlackBerry Bridge, FilePicker, BlackBerry Link Remote Access, VoiceMail Setup, Smart Card Settings, etc.

It seems like the Device Monitor is my only protection from a huge battery drain. I can go in and manually turn them off from time to time.

Have begun uninstalling apps that appear to be the root cause of battery drain.

That said, having more control of Android app permissions, and of the Amazon App Store would be helpful with respect to limiting battery drain.

I have a Passport, and am waiting for 10.3.2 until it's officially pushed out. Hoping it solves my battery issues.
