It seems clear that very few people are working on this anymore. I think we should be resigned to the conclusion that our legacy system and devices will, like the old soldier, 'fade, fade away'.

Very few people are working on this because they can't really do anything but wait until CSE certifies 10.3.3: https://www.cse-cst.gc.ca/en/canadia...uation-product

Btw, why didn't you just post this in one of the many other 10.3.3 threads?

No, there will be 10.3.4. After that, BlackBerry will decide whether to to go ahead or stop supporting BB10. Until things start to show up, it is better if we could stop the whining...

Isn't 10.4 required to fulfil contractual obligations? At the very least it's required so that Chen doesn't make himself out to be a liar.

It would even be better if the moderators would simply block the members who start threads of this type all together. That would save a lot of wasted time spent on these people (who must have seen, if not read the other threads on the topic).

You forgot the 'They took all this time and 10.3.3 still has bugs' threads. And the 'WTH, I thought 10.3.3 was going to be a big update' threads. They'll come before the 10.3.4 threads.

A question which came to my mind is: why should anyone certificate a dead product? A product even the manufacturer is not convinced of?

Now this is an excellent question. Why would BB spend scarce money on a BB10 evaluation, I know that I wouldn't if I were Chen.

OS10.3.3 certification is now 8 months overdue with no visible sign of progress, other than occasional tweets to say it's happening.

Contractual Obligation.... you have a contract with BlackBerry that says your phone will get 10.3.4.xxx?

Things change all the time in business... you probably weren't around for the promises by the BlackBerry CEO with the PlayBook and it's updating to BB10.

I think most have finally accepted that 10.3.4, when released.... won't mean anything for them. Without improvements to the Runtime, without Developer Support... the user experience is like nice big thich Steak sitting out in the hot sun. At some point it has lost all its value.

What a dumb comment! The os was last updated a year ago. The browser certs expire by 2020 so we have 4 more years to go.

Do you say the same to someone who is still using an iphone 4?

FWIW, I only knew one person with an iPhone 4. She upgraded to an iPhone 6 I believe. Those iPhone users have an upgrade path.

All we have is empty promises and a growing sense of doom, waiting to see what BlackBerry will kill next.

(My bet is on Link being next to go EOL, followed by BBM for BB10.)
