Hi, on some occasions, the icon denoting BB services disappears (the four BB circles/shapes thing). When it does, I get no emails/texts etc. The best way I have to get this back again is to enable flight mode, then turn it off again. This is in a 4G high cellular signal area.

What would cause this, anyone else have this issue?

Could be issues with the carrier, mine actually did this morning and I had to do the same thing but it popped back on. Doesn't normally happen though.

crackbb10: I'm not sure actually. I do forget to turn it off sometimes when I leave the house. I'll keep an eye out for that one.

Radio and Wi-Fi tend to conflict with each other for some reason. Also the other way around. I don't know if it will solve your problem, but it might help.

I think this was the problem. After making sure the wifi is turned off as I leave the house, this 'issue' has gone away.

I thought BIS was on legacy devices. I am not using this phone on a corporate network, just a normal phone network.

If I am connected to my network and get my data services through that, what extra is this service providing?

On bb10 it's basically just a status symbol that data services is connected. So you know you can use data when the dots are present.
You may not have BIS anymore but you still pass through the BlackBerry infrastructure. Otherwise you would get bbm. Even bbm for droid and ios pass through the bbi.
