I am still rocking the 9900 and awaiting the Classic. A year ago I removed data from my plan and lost use of BBM, the native email program, calendar syncing, and the use of several apps. Will these troubles follow me to BB10 if I remain without data?
    thanks

I have never had a data plan with my blackberry but there are one or two things I learned.

When I first got my plan I had a curve 9360, this plan, although there was no data involved, did come with unlimited bbm use. However once I upgraded to BB10 (same plan) I no longer am able to use bbm without a wifi connection.

So, my suggestion is that if you want to keep all of that stuff, you will need a data plan. Im unfortunately a student and cant afford the plans here in canada what include data so emails, bbm, etc is all done at home with wifi.

    Hope that helped!

BB10 is much better than the old BB OS if you don't have a data plan, everything SHOULD work with only wifi, as only BBM goes through the BB NOC. I gave my old Z10 to a friend and she has been fine without a data plan, and BBM does work for her on wifi, including video chat.

WiFi is cheaper ; more efficient and faster.
Sometimes people can't paid for data plan, but of course they need to use their phones.
With BlackBerry OS10 I will use wifi whenever it exists, and will use data when I'm out of home
That sucks when you need to use your own data plan in a university or work :P

Those will work fine on wifi. BB10 doesn't care about the source of its data stream. I've run a Q5 spare on wifi and it behaves the same.
