Default BB 10 and BIS. What's the Impact?

I'm bringing this up again, because it's an important issue for a lot of Blackberry faithful. My concern is primarily with the loss of compression in BB10, but many others have vocalized their concerns on a number of fronts.

It was almost a year ago that Bla1ze made the following comment due to a number of posters having concerns that compression would be gone with BB10.

Now, stop the bickering and arguing like your brains were compressed.

After reading all the nonsense in this thread, I need to go DEcompress.
That was last March, so what the heck happened in the interim? Now we have people singing the praises of dumping BIS.

    Why was it garbage:
    -Browsing was terribly slow
    -Compression dogged any video streaming
    -Weird Service Book problems
-Crappy POP3 email support (now you can refresh your pop3 with a swipe, without waiting for that 15 minutes NOC interval)
    -ActiveSync Support
-I don't need a plan to use the device. If I want a "iPod touch" all I have to do is use Wifi, and the device works minus phone calls and texting
-My email keeps working when the NOC goes down. No more yearly "OMG RIM SUCKS"
-Programmers don't need to write weird detection logic in code (Do I have BIS, do I have BES, does their carrier allow direct connections). You know those weird setup detection wizards in apps! Now they are gone!!!
    -No more weird attachment limits
-They don't try and mess with my HTML email
    -No more lame download limits
-Downloads start right away... Not waiting for all that lag for the NOC to wake up

Bottom line, anybody who thinks BIS getting killed off is a bad thing is crazy. Killing of BIS will be one of the most important things to make BB10 perform the way everyone wants! Fast, speedy and without limits!
In comparing the Z10 and BB10 to the iPhone and iOS, another poster had this to say.

So, while some will see advantages, others see disadvantages and visa versa. What I would hope, is that Crackberry complete a thorough post clarifying the impact of the change to users (and particularly the Blackberry faithful).

More than a week ago, Kevin made the following comment.

We're going to do another post further clarifying the roll of BIS in BB10. the big thing is that you don't need a special data plan now to use BB services... but the architecture is still being put to use in a big way.

Maybe they need to rebrand BIS to BlackBerry Cloud Services or something like that.
I think it's time to make that post and clarify things. The longer you wait, the worse this looks.

Confusion continues to reign supreme. It would be really really helpful if Crackberry could clarify, as they said they would.
