    I follow my battery life in the Device Manager from time to time. I noticed that sometimes, the results don't seem to jive with my usage or just don't make sense. I was thinking that the complaints of low battery life may be the result of a flaw in the algorithm used to look at percentage and calculate (anticipate) life remaining.
    Z10 10.2.1.1925 ATT
    My use: I charged the phone to 100% at 11:30p or so. I left the phone unused overnight, with only the LTE running. No wifi, BT or usage. My phone and I both slept the night and I let the phone sleep in until 12 noon. It had run down to 75%/13hr, with 2.9% "Phone."

    In the next few hours, I used the phone for some email and texting and at 3:20 or so, made a 30 minute phone call. You can see the drop to 53% and 3 hours remaining. I then left the phone alone for 2 hours and battery life dropped to 43% but life jumped up to 10 hours. I don't know what drives the battery down on minimal use. Perhaps the life left is calculated by the most recent rate of usage (the calculus and all that) but any ideas on where the battery life drops when no usage. All other items on the list were < 0.9

    I wonder what your system is doing the whole time. Mine never gets up to 25%

    Yip that's how it is calculated.

    This is what sometimes happens to me, I can only assume the OS may sometimes take longer to settle (do a hard reset) which should help.

    Both are idle, as you can see the graph to the left is not settled.

    @Sayf777- your attachments weren't visible. What do you think is going on in Standby time? My OS (1295) is in for over a week now. Rebooted several times since then.
    Thx.

    When I put the Z in Bedside Mode after a full charge and go to sleep, I wake up 6 hours later with only 80% battery. Not normal, or at least should not be normal.

    If I start a very action packed day with a full charge (these days usually take about 12 to 15 hours) I will use my phone only to check the time occasionally and check some messages but hardly reply to them. When I get in the car and phone home, I find my battery sitting around 10%. This is not normal.

    When I use the phone constantly it lasts me around 4 to 6 hours, depending on my use. This I find normal, because I'm streaming music, videos, browsing, writing, playing games and all.

    All in all, the Z battery is cr*p and it's the only reason I have to get me a Q for use outside of home come next upgrade. I won't be going for a new device from launch day again, unless they freak me out with an amazing Z11 with a battery at least the size of the Q, hopefully more like the Z30.

    So, any comments on what eats up battery when nothing appears to be going on? Does anyone think the battery measure isn't right or is it phantom usage?

    My battery life is amazing. I think more should try this OS.

    Ok, so I forgot to use Airplane mode overnight. Can this be real? BT and Wifi running. Mail on manual. NO apps active and device manager shows nothing over 0.1, below what is pictured below. I can't turn off LTE (ATT blocks this). Hope the new OS fixes battery issues. I don't want to drop down in the OS.
    Any one else with ideas?? Note, I recharged at about 8:15. I was down to 65% or so!

    Well after a few days of me having a moan about battery life on .1925 it seems to have improved a lot.

    Took it off charge at 8 this morning, and after 9 hours it is currently 73%. A hell of a lit better than the 4 hours I was getting previously

    @syorksdeano:
    Are you using it or is it just doing baseline stuff to get to the 73%. Mine is at 90% now, down from 93% after another hour of minimal email use, wifi and BT running. Most of the use is SYSTEM, per the DManager.

    At 3% and hour, it's the same as your drop of 27% over 9 hours.

    @flacrack

    It's been used today for about 20 emails, Facebook, twitter and about an hour of music.

    I'm on Three in the UK so it's constantly on 3G and H+

    Well, maybe the algo isn't quite right. I've had moderate use with calls, texting and browsing on LTE and I'm at 43 percent after 12 hours. Maybe there's more juice in the mid range? How.would you.neasure otherwise.

    Sorry about that, seems to be a vb forums issue with the quoting and image posting.

    That does seem to be the case from my observations, the top range doesn't last as long compared to from around 75% down.

    I may swap the radio to the 1296 leak. Maybe the LTE issue will be resolved. Otherwise, I will just have to watch the battery use. I do agree that midrange life is much better than initial life- which is most likely the algorithm rather than the battery.

    Once I hit 20%, the phone will die on me within the hour. The mid range does best for me too. Say between 40 and 70%.

    I flashed the new radio file (1926) and charged to 100%. I'll follow later with a battery screen shot later. I still cannot drop off the LTE to 3 G as it appears T-Mo peeps can. Time will tell!

    Flashed the 1296 radio yesterday. Battery seems to discharge at 3% an hour with my use. So from this am at 8 until now with moderate use of phone text and email I'm down to 75%. That's ok.
