This seems to not always happen but only sometimes when upgrading to a new OS or after a wipe and reload

The battery gets confused and at 20% acts as if it's at 0% and turns off, it then requires charging..

Anyone get the same? Is there a solution to this?

Remove the battery for couple of hours, this should do the trick

Yes, it is a problem of "calibration"... some users reported that the battery only shows 92-98% although "full" coz charged over night, other users reported a shut down coz lacking power at 15-40%

It happened to me, too: as showing only 96% although fully charged.

Discussed in the forums before.

The X10 devices solved it by moving the battery out for at least 15 min, activate the device battery out (to empty any condenser), put battery in again, charge fully, drain fully, recharge.

The Q5/Z30 (with unremovable batteries) users could not "pull" their battery, so they reset, drained fully, restarted fully, after 2-3 cycles, they got it/or not? Can't remember coz I use a Q10 and solved my problem rapidely ;-)

As stated above. Mine did the same. Would only charge to 96%.

Turned off my phone, pulled the battery, put it back in, completely drained it to dead, then it fully charged, no issues.
