    Default Appworld updates

Why does the hub/appworld not let me know of any updates? I literally have to go into my installed tab on appworld and then click an app to open it and see if an update is available. Once i have done that i will get a notification in the hub. I dont want to scroll through 20+ apps clicking on them to view updates, the hub should surely notify me?

    It does, but not automatically.

    1. Go in to Blackberry World
    2. Swipe Right, and change to "My World"
    3. Select "My Apps & Games"
    4. Click the 3 dots, and select "Check for Updates"
    5. You'll get a list of updates
    6. Click update all at the bottom of the screen.

It will also push a list of updates to your Hub.

It should notify you, but it appears not to. You can save time though by doing this:
Go into my apps and games in my world. Click on the three dots in the bottom right corner, and press 'check for updates'. Then if any updates are available, it loads a new screen at the bottom of the screen is an option to install all updates.

    Hopefully this will help.

It only checks every few days (might be once a week, not sure on the exact amount of days) automatically. So while there might be an update you may not get an automatic notification for a few days after it is released. As a poster pointed out above you can check any time manually.

That is good to know as I thought it didn't push through...BBRY should in the next update allow users customize the time between checking for updates (for those who want to preserve battery life, keep it to manual check only...those who want instant updates set to hourly, etc.)

That explains it, haven't had my phone long enough to know it would have eventually told me!

I think when Blackberry gets this hammered out, it will start to push these out. My android will wait sometimes and I won't get app updates. So hopefully in time it will change.

Yes, Android seems to do something similar. If I check "My Apps" manually, there may be updates waiting. If I don't check, I get a notification eventually. I don't know what the schedule is, but it's clearly not instant/push. I have no problem with this.

Me to, I am so geeky being in IT, I check tech news and see main app updates in news so I update.

This is the norm on every OS as nobody wants to get hammered with app updates every hour. Instead, it polls every few days or a week or so. Then if there are updates, 1) You're not getting hammered by them, and 2) They can be grouped together, and a whole bunch of apps can be updated together collectively.

This isn't a flaw, it's a specific decision, which I happen to agree with. Those who want to get app updates, can do so manually.
