With so many posts bashing the app situation felt motivated to contribute my 2 cents.

BB10 launched with 70,000 apps. Windows 7 phone launched with 1200 apps. I've now owned my Z10 for 2 months and we are over 100,000 apps with a number of key apps in there and more on the way.

Now even though ports account for 20% of these apps having a port is better than nothing. The same goes for side loading. It's not ideal but BlackBerry obviously did everything they could to aid the situation.

Given the age of this platform the app situation is actually very impressive. If you expected better at this point you were being completely unrealistic.

    Had to be said.

    My 2 cents....

I think they could have strived to ripped off jellybean or ics apps instead if gingerbread outdated ones.

    My 2 cents...

From what I understand a newer implementation of the Android runtime is on its way.

Common guys. Ever heard of giving credit where credit is due?

There will always be missing features/apps/things to complain about. My point here is that this level of selection this early in the game is impressive.

    agree with you,..

about the 20% - they are not "ports" - but true Android Apps.. just repacked...

and tha's why I hope there will be a way for us to know Before we download from BBWorld IF the app is using the Android runtime or not...

I preffer apps utilizing the BB10 GUI and features, ... Android apps goes on my Android phone....

I agree with that. BlackBerry world should distinguish native from ported somehow.
