It doesn't matter. You can always update yourself whenever you wish.

I'm also very interested in the answer to OP's question. I recently moved to Ireland and I can see that BlackBerry is extremely unpopular here, so I'm wondering what is the situation with updates.

And I'm not the biggest fan of leaks, even though there are "leaks" that are the same as the version pushed out by carriers

If mother UK network supports it, you will also get OTA in Ireland. Most if not all do push OTA.
If not then you can update yourself as will, and it doesn't have to be leak.

Thanks guys. I've wasted a lot of hours over problems with leaks in the past so I'll be steering clear, but if there is a legit non-leak OTA download of it anywhere that won't involve me fooling around to get it installed, then I'm interested!

I used to do all that sort of stuff but just don't have the time any more!

With 48 months by extension three.ie last update picked up free meteor sim put in phone and got the update on over wifi. Not sure if any company is pushing update in ireland yet

Yep. What he said. If for some reason you don't get your carrier updates, just stick in a free sim from other providers (Vodafone always rolls out for me same day as rest of the world). Let it download the software, afterwards put your old sim back. You're done.
