Any word or experience with device encryption or new unlock tech?

So, I'm curious. After all this time, has RIM updated the password options or device encryption to make it easier/faster to get into your phone? I see all of the other things being advertised, like BBM, the camera, the hub, etc but nothing about standard updated functions...

I'm hoping they have a new unlock method they're saving for the 30th.
