I've got a load of apks on my phone from GP, Amazon and BBW. Are these apps a vulnerability to my security? Should I have a purge?

This is a little like asking: "I ate at some restaurants; will I get food poisoning?"

You're not in any danger just because they're Android apps. It's which apps that matters. If they're all relatively established, you're most likely fine. If you bought tacos from the guy in the alley, not so much.

The issue is complicated but not limited by the source of the applications. Any system or application that uses the affected versions of OpenSSL will be vulnerable to attacks from systems they connect to. This makes exploring the bug on client systems relatively difficult.

There are two pieces of good news. BlackBerry has announced that BB10 is not vulnerable. And Ofutur ran the Android vulnerability test on his BlackBerry. I've attached his screen shot from another thread.
