    Hello,

I'm using a Passport and I'm looking for a gesture for the main menu button and for the options menu button.

Is there something like this available for Android apps?

    Thank you.
    Best regards

Is there no one, who has an idea?

Is there any alternative (for example through an app)?

    Thank you.

I'm not quite sure what you are asking. BlackBerry 10 has no menus button per say. If you are in a BlackBerry app that has a menu in the action bar, it will be on the far right or left of the action bar at the bottom. There is also no home button. You swipe up and then tap the x at the bottom right corner of the Active frame to close the app. BlackBerry 10 is all gestures, there are no buttons. There is no way to get this functionality in an Android app to change the functionality of a BlackBerry device. If buttons are the UI you want, then what you want is not a BlackBerry.

    Hello,

Thank you for the quick reply. My problem is the following:
I run the Android app Mapfactor Navigator for GPS navigation. The search function of the app does not have a button to cancel the search. It is only possible to cancel the search when I press the menu button (Android button with the 3 stripes). Unfortunately, I don't have this button. Therefore it would be great to at this button as a software button or through a gesture.

Perhaps there is someone who has an answer to this.

There may be something on the action bar that comes up by default when you install any Android app, but if you have selected for the action bar to be hidden to get more screen real estate, then the function will also be hidden. You can either reactivate the action bar by swiping down from the top of the screen and tapping the icon, or use the default gesture for "back button" which is to swipe from the bottom right of the screen on about a 30 degree angle up toward the left side of the screen.

    The action bar is activated.

I see the back button, but I want to have the menu button, too.

In earlierer releases of OS10 (I think it was 10.3) there was a button with 3 points as menu button. Is it possible to get that button back?

It's not something that is a function of the OS. At least I don't think it is. Is it possible the app updated and it no longer has that?

I have the app now since I have the phone.
I haven't seen the menu button at all in any of my Android apps with the current OS 10.3.2.

The 3 dots button is not for the Android app. The Overflow, as it's called, is part of BlackBerry app. The equivalent of the Menu button for Android app is to swipe up, as oldsoul123 told you.

About swiping up: I know this function and I use it a lot and I love it.

Perhaps this picture explains better what I mean:

Right, it depends on the application. Many use the gesture "left-to-right", starting outside the bezel. But if the app follows the Android "guide book", there must be an area to click By the way, I assume you resized your app accordingly ? (Full size or Rectangular)

    I tried this already.

As I still could not see the menu button I asked the devolper of the app. There is no menu button in the search function. Therefore it is necessary to have this button as hardware button or through the software of the Android runtime.

Then you can cancel the search by pressing the back "button" down left.

Dann kannst du doch die Suche abbrechen, wenn du unten links den zurck "button" drckst.

But I have to hit the back button always twice. One time to get back of typing mode which closes the software keyboard and a second time to go back.

For example if I am in the search function and already in the screen to chose the the street number I have to hit the back button 8 times. This takes a lot of time. I hoped to find a faster solution.
