I was noticing heavy drain on my phone using battery guru, im on Q10SQN100-3/10.2.1.3247

My phone idles without the screen turned on at -0.01 to -0.02 and the graph looks like this:

    Amazon app store kills battery-img_20140820_030319.png

When there's a disruption this is what the graph looks like, the black line doesnt touch the center most horizontal graph line:

    Amazon app store kills battery-img_20140820_030304.png

In the latter case my phone idles at -0.5 to -0.8

Normally when this happens I open taskmanager to see if there's any android apps running in the background.

And I found that amazon app store doesn't stay permanently closed. Even when I kill it using task manager it always pops back up eventually.

BTW MANY android apps do this, to name a few Nikon WMU, VLC player, Tresorit cloud, Seeking Alpha, BOX for android and a bunch more.

But this is profoundly stupid because the future of BlackBerry 10's ecosystem ARE bloody android apps, delivered BY amazon app store which IS and will always be an android app and it'll be just the very thing that will make us "wall huggers" as well.

BlackBerry better sort this out because otherwise anyone who uses android apps on their BB10 will woe the day they bought a BlackBerry.

I have noticed some Amazon apps don't stay closed either. Try Ghost Commander to kill the process and see if that does the trick?

Will have to keep an eye on this, I used the Amyzon /App Store for the Andy apps I want/need. I never noticed any difference in battery life/drain. But the only App that I do wonder about is the Eye-Fi app, You have to watch those internal setting for it.

    But "eye" will be awatching...

Or use Task Manager from BlackBerry world.

@OP I also noticed this drain and that's why I deleted it and am using Snap (waiting for Snap v3.0)
I really hope BlackBerry makes a native app for Amazon App Store or even includes it as a section in BlackBerry World

Im doing the same as well, snap is so much better but I need something install able via OTA to recommend to my less tech inclined friends who ive persuaded to use BlackBerry 10.

Of course when I have the chance I would help them install SNAP.

I'm always logged in. I installed months ago. I check for new apps every couple of days. That being said, I haven't installed the latest update to Amazon app store. When it comes to Android apps, my philosophy is if it works already, leave it alone.

Amazon app store is version 1.6.4000.10

I rarely upgrade apps if they are working fine for me, especially Android apps. I hate being burned by upgrading, only to be presented with problems that weren't there before.

That being said, I think I still have the apk from when I installed, back in March I think. PM me an email address or BB pin and I will send it to you if you like.

Wasn't aware of this. I killed everything, except android Bluetooth, which for some reason couldn't be stopped - and 15 seconds later they are all back!

Stuff that I don't even use, like Skype, comes on.

    This is irritating.

What are these android applications? Should I be closing them every time I see them.

My trust level for android stuff is low. Even the android icons evokes a "virus" image in my mind.

That said, I need some android apps.
70% of them I've downloaded do far are way worse than their iOS counterparts.

Anyway if someone could advise me on the apps in my screenshot.

Those are parts of the runtime that were invoked by an android app. You probably had an android app playing music which invoked the android music app

Lots of these android apps eat away battery in the background. It happens on android phones too obviously thus why their battery can suck especially on the older versions.

You can kill the rogue android apps using a permissions app found on google play but it only works with 10.3

    Unfortunately.....

    Amazon app store kills battery-img_20140823_165738.png

BUT! I havent logged in yet and thus its NOT running in the background so far.

I also use snap. Hope BlackBerry sorts this out asap. An undeleteable android app store which constantly sucks battery in the background is the last thing BlackBerry needs right now.

In 10.3.0.1052 the stock amazon app store seems to be behaving.

But from the moment of OS install I havent touched the app so from how I see it, its in cryro status.

And I wont be touching it either.
