is there an option (which I'm obviously couldn't find) to format all future e-mails as plain text?

Right now I have to format every new created mail by hand.

While the answers were helpful for a single email, my question about making plain text the default never got answered. I still hope it is possible!

I'm guessing by the extended silence here that you didn't get a positive answer on this one. I really don't like the html default and would love to set plain text as the norm.
