I've been using Activesync for my work Gmail account forever.

This morning, I received a message stating that the account was no longer Syncing. A quick check on the error message suggested if there were more than 200 updates to process, ActiveSync could fail. Nothing like that happened - no mass updates, no changes, just around 8:45am ActiveSync wouldn't update.

I deleted the account and re-added. Everything goes fine in the setup, about 2 minutes later I get the message that ActiveSync has stopped. Funny thing is I received a few emails during that time and they showed up.

I tried using the Gmail.com option for the same account, and while it syncs up mail, it won't touch the calendar. Very odd.

What is the best way to get out of this situation? If you have any diagnostic questions about my setup I'll be more than happy to update info in the thread. Thanks!

One way, so far, is change the number of sync days to 1. Yuck

That option fails after 4 minutes. Same message, and it was pulling down information.

Trying CalDAV and CardDav lol you'd think the "gmail" setup would handle all these...

So far so good on my end. I even did a wipe, update and the loaded my accounts.

Good find for the person who posted that link.

I knew of the event, and was always happy that activesync had continued working for me. Until yesterday.

I do feel the problem was something with the > 200 updates limitation of activesync, as I still received several emails while the service was working. Then after mere minutes it would fail completely with a message.

Caldav and CardDav are working as expected so no problem so far.

Thanks for the detailed info, it's a much better explanation than I had before.
