Yep. WP is selling probably almost the 10 million especially with the launch of the low end lumia which are very popular products. It does leave some uncertainty about BB10 in the future.

Was a thread REALLY necessary when there are multiple on this already?
And to clarify, that is 2.7M Z10's shipped, as I believe Q10's were not included in this.
I have been wrong before though.

Blackberry phones as a whole vs Microsoft phones as a whole, Blackberry would still be in the lead, but Blackberry 10 specifically vs Windows Phone 8 specifically, then yes at the moment that's true, but Microsoft has been selling Windows phone 8 quite a bit longer then Blackberry has been selling BB10.

One month of Q10 sales (in Canada and UK) would have been included in the BB10 shipments

True. But apps is what helps a OS grow and the official apps is leaning toward wp8 instead of BB10. Understand that 2.7 million sales is not going to attract developers at all

Microsoft is doing what they have to do. They just aren't talking about it much. Talk is cheap. Results speak for themselves. Yes, they're #3 at the moment, and a lot has to do with what investments they are willing or able to make to get there. BBRY isn't doing that. Microsoft is. It's paying off for them.

I dont see why its a big deal if they are third. Like saying goes if you ain't first you are last. They should be third windows phone OS has been out since 2010 and the isnt a big change in windows OS 7 and 8. Unlike Blackberrys complete overhaul. Give BB time things have to change.

Is this 2.7 this quarter only, which would mean 3.7 total so far? Or is this total sales from the start.

3.7 shipped total thru end of may, so less than 1 million shipped a month (feb-may)

sure it can be. That is kinda where they are heading. Farm out the hardware and become a software and services company. They can be very profitable that way if they really want to i think

Apple Devs tend to be upset about the new iOS 7 cuz of how hard it is to develop apps for it.

... few developers who've fought to maintain a familiar look want to throw in a new learning curve that could potentially steer users toward a competitor. - Excerpt taken from USA today (http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/2...ville/2459333/)

Let's hope BlackBerry can get them to develop apps for the BB10 platform.

What else is to be expected. How much marketing have you seen since bb10 launched.

BlackBerry is pretty much blacklisted by the US carriers.

So US still has the final say...

There's really no way that majority of the US will give up on apple unless blackberry has better innovative technology, money and marketing strategy. Sadly, blackberry has none of it. Orrrrrr pray hard for a major security flaw in iphone that cause it to self destruct, lol.

There are good reasons perhaps for WP8 to be where they are now. For what I paid for a Lumia 620 for my mom like 5 months ago, I could not even get lowest end Curve where I am. 620 blows that Curve away in both hardware and soft though.

As much a BlackBerry addict as I am, I can't help noticing the value of WP8 phones especially from Nokia.

agreed. So surprised that wp8 runs so well on the lowest end lumia 520. With only 512mb ram that's the advantage of wp8 it runs so well on any hardware you throw at it

yea that's true. That's also the kinda performance I expected from BB10 because of QNX. I guess all the stuff they put on top of it is very resource hungry
