I decided to try the BB maps app yesterday on my way home from work and I noticed that the GPS randomly would say 'your GPS location couldn't be determined '. I verified that I had all bars and I had a full LTE signal... but I don't think that would've mattered here...

The same thing happened when I used the Waze app, which leads me to believe there is a problem with either the phone or the OS.

Before anyone asks or suggests... I had reinstalled the OS on Sunday using the autoloader.

Has anyone else seen this problem with the GPS?

Installing an autoloader would delete the ephemeris database which will need to be downloaded off the Internet, if your phone has access to one. Or, it would have to receive the ephemeris from the satellites. Next time you have a chance to have the phone in an area with a good clear view of the sky, start a GPS application like maps and let it run for a good half hour.

I have not seen the issue on my Z10-3. It is rock stable as far as GPS is concerned. That, combined with the autoloader install, makes me think the problem is with your hardware.

I will leave maps turned on over the weekend and then try. But I think it's probably my hardware.

If you suspect hardware you can try BBVE (BlackBerry Virtual Expert) and HelloGPS both in BlackBerry World and free to see if your device has problems.
