    Default 10.1 most wanted poll

    Hi,

I just wanted to create a general poll to see what feature you want to see most in the 10.1 update. They are quite general choices as there is a limit of 10 poll choices allowed. I know there is a stickie thread for all the specifics but just wanted to get a broad idea, sorry if I have missed something really obvious.

Neither Jelly Bean support nor background apps will be in 10.1. This has been publicly stated by BlackBerry.

    Where is the following option?

    - a q10 to run 10.1

Anyone who expects major updates just because the version number changes to 10.1 is just setting themselves up for disappointment if they expect stuff that has never been intended to be in there.

BB has stated that the 10.1 update is primarily to support the Q10. There may be bug fixes but don't expect new features.

Maybe a Dev will pop in and explain it, but as far as I understand, currently there aren't any API's to allow for native apps to run in the background - so to run an app it has to be in the active frames. So for Hub++ as an example, to keep the notifications on the status bar the app has to be open.

that is correct ... there is no way to have an app running that you don't see as a tile.

I know this isn't a 10.1 thing, but man do I ever want Google apps. Google+ in the hub would be fantastic. Google support is the one thing I really miss about Android, but I don't think it's enough to make me want to give up on BB.

As for 10.1, I want the os to run smoother. No one else seems to ever mentioned this, but I've noticed that scrolling within the settings and hub messages has a stutter. It doesn't look as a smooth as it should to be, and it makes my phone feel as though it's dated, despite the fact it's running a new os on new hardware.

In general, I want to see an attempt to fix bugs and improve the user experience in small gradual ways. I want a bit more polish.

A gesture based lock screen would also be great.

Weird. Never had the scrolling stutter... Just went into the hub and checked it out, and it was buttery.

    Perhaps try a device reset?

*edit. Just tried it in settings and I see what you mean, but never seen that in the hub

Yeah, the hub is actually fine. However, other lists suffer a bit. Another example would be when a text conversation is loaded up.

Interesting so far that profile\notification improvements is leading. I hope that this continues to get to get votes and the crackberry mods could pass on the results. I would love to have an official poll like this from BlackBerry so we really could influence what users want to see in the updates as this would make BlackBerry unique in customer feedback.

No time restrictions on emails! I flagged a few emails and categorised them in BlackBerry Remember but now they've disappeared because they are too "Old". Yup this needs to be fixed.
