edit: I lie, found it. I have a feeling this might have to do with the impending US launch. Hopefully we'll see Asphalt 7 free as well, similar to what happened with the Playbook promos.

I also noticed apart from the size difference. The paid version is on version 1.1.1.0 the free version is version 1.1.0.1

Bah! Thought I just discovered something. Apparently I'm a few hours late to this party.

The Free includes items for sale, so maybe they plan on getting you later.
Like the hot wings restaurant selling wings for $0.25, but they don't tell you until after you get started that napkins are $50 each.

Might be a difference though. Really doubt that anyone who bought the app will go to trouble of DLing the Free version to check it out. We'll have to wait for Gameloft to tell us, I suppose.

So, I played through the whole first level and it's moving on to the second, so it's not a trial version. Did the premium version not have in-app purchases as well?

This game has amazing graphics, when you hook up the hdmi cables it feels like your playing a ps2 game.

Yes, I was able to get it for free a few days ago and I'm on AT&T. Load times are horrendous though. Maybe that's why it's free to **** you off and making you wanting to buy the paid version. Lol...
