They would print it out for you on request. That's the document I spoke of where the Dev Alpha is called "the Alpha product" constantly.
I read the whole thing while on the way home from Orlando. It covers everything. We aint even allowed to let someone borrow it let alone sell it. - 05-21-2012, 09:19 AM #28
I personally wouldn't.. all you can do on it is the camera and the browser.. I'd rather wait for the real BB10 device with keyboard to come out on the market

The device is obviously being used by Vivek WITH a higher BB10 version on the phone. Therefore althou it just has camera and browser function NOW it can and will eventually function as a phone, as I've made phone calls on it now also.

It is my understanding that in speaking to a RIM rep the device will have more and more functionality as the process moves along. I guess meaning getting closer to the BB10 launch.
However, I'd assume that once BB10 is released the phones will be disabled which sucks because the are very awesome devices.

No because I want the finished product. I am in the minority here cause I am not a developer and have no programming training. I want a fully functioning BB10.

And as I've said the DevAlpha can function as a BB10 OS phone FULLY. If the 2 @$$clowns, Mike and Jim were running RIM, I can almost guarantee that this would've been the phone that would've been released and rushed to the market.

As a device, I think the Dev Alpha is up to par (hardware-wise). We don't really see all that it can do with the current OS installed. But...
If it had the full BB10 OS installed, and that gave it better battery management, I could see owning it as a daily driver. Personally, I'm excited about what will replace the Dev Alpha.RuneCryption - Unique memory game for PlayBook & BB10. - 06-13-2012, 06:19 AM #35
everyone who gets a dev alpha phone is registered on name an can be blocked from a distance, so selling/buying one would be useless, alltough it's a mini playbook with 3g functional en can call en bb10 kernel in it.. it's very nice and works like a charm but for end users its better to wait till oktober

moreover it has been rumored that only dev with BB10 app submission could be eligible. Note: this and the above (upgrade) are rumors yet.
If no upgrade, functional or not ... I'm not selling/offering it.
It will be my grandson 1st grade present "hey boy ... you like your house and pool ? ... take this device and keep it preciously : this where it all began

at this time you can only make calls with a bluetooth headset,
the mics are working, but only disables for calling, video and sound recording works on the dev alpha,
maybe with the update there going to work

So far I know the audio part (mic) is not functional plus there's no native app for phone calls.
