Hey folks,

I bought the replacement parts to convert my DEV ALPHA C to a Q10. I am still unsure whether or not I want to do it. On one hand, the Q10 is beautiful, and the case is much better, and has accessories available. On the other hand, the Dev C is a rarity, very exclusive, and industrial looking. Has anyone attempted to convert their Dev C to a Q10? How did it go? Would you recommend it to those planning on making the switch?

Once you got the parts, you might as well
Your going to have problems in the future with the keyboard falling apart anyway. Plus you can get a case to protect and use it as a real phone. How much the parts cost you? I want to the same, as I know the dev c will end up getting damaged after a while. Even though it looks mint now.

I got OEM parts on eBay for 50$, received them in the mail yesterday.

Yes, I received the parts already, and the bottom plate (beneath the keyboard) is included.

I'd hold off, though I am an impatient person. Not a lot of people will have a Dev alpha, and it's practically a collectors item. Definitely a conversation piece.

It's just... the thought of turning something so rare and unique into something so common, even if it is a particularly amazing brand of common...

Dev Alpha C is unique and rare, definitely worth more... Just sell the DAC and buy a Q10 if you hate it that much.

Dafuqq. I don't get why people want to do this. IT'S A COLLECTOR'S ITEM!! Only 1500 in the world and you want to convert it into a Q10?? I would never do that to my DAC

based on the pictures in that link, looks like it's missing some electronic parts, like the flash LED in the top and those right side keys

I wish I had one my Zed is great but the Dev Alpha C is a Collectors edition. If your sure you want to convert it. As long as it still updates correctly you should keep it has it was intended.

If you only want to test apps on it, then don't convert it. If you want to use the phone, you will have to convert it at some point, because you can't just open it to fix the keyboard and put it back together the way it was. some parts are tamper proof.

Any full housing kit will do, but key the full keyboard with it and read this:
