Receiving one at the Toronto Jam on Thursday
I just got confirmation that I'm getting one next week. I've done some simple app building for my work using the Java tools a while ago on first generation curves but nothing lately.
Does the phone come with the tools as well, or at least info on where to get them? - 06-14-2012, 07:33 PM #4
Got my confirmation email today as well, confirmed for a device. Woho! Less than a week! I was originally going to get a Dev Alpha via work, but decided I wanted one to keep all to myself and get the upgrade when they're released!
See y'all there! - 06-14-2012, 08:22 PM #5
The tools are available to download today at https://developer.blackberry.com/ in which you can use a simulator until you get your Dev Alpha Device.
I got my confirmation for mine as well

Qualified for the Dev Alpha in BlackBerry 10 Jam Toronto.
Was slated to receive one in Orlando but couldn't make it to Orlando, VERY short notice (App World Vendors got admission to BlackBerry 10 Jam and BlackBerry world for free).
Anyways I went the WebWorks/HTML5 route, it's what I'm most comfortable with, in regards to qualifying for the Dev Alpha, having an app in App World isn't the the only thing that determines it all, they have their own set of criteria and that's how they decide who's eligible for a Dev Alpha.
I also do think if you go as a representative of an organization then maybe they won't give out another one if one person from that organization already has a Dev Alpha. Looking forward to seeing you all at BlackBerry 10 Jam TORONTO!!

BTW,
Does the Health Card qualify as "Government Photo ID"?
It seems really really ambiguous as the OHIP Health card is sometimes considered government Photo ID and sometimes it's not.
