Re: PlayCloud 10 preview
sorry if i am being picky, but is it possible to do the same with the music but have the album cover as the pic and video? Im just trying to help, i think we as a society are moving towards having information ready before actually clicking an icon.

Re: PlayCloud 10 preview
looks great! 2 questions.
1. will i be able to setup multiple accounts for box or others? (essential for me)
2. are downloads multithreaded? (nice to have) - 10-29-2012, 03:47 PM

Re: PlayCloud 10 preview
If you "open" a music file, I invoke the BlackBerry media player into PlayCloud (or in a new window).
=> if you have read / seen the BB10 presentation, you can understand the invokation framework behavior. To sum up, open multi-application can be avoid in opening a new app inside an other app.
So you will able to see you music cover and listen music.
Currently, only the image icon are replaced by the thumbnail. Maybe, I'll add later the thumbnail support for video and audio (if cover exists)
Note: I'm going to study it for audio file ; but for video later

Re: PlayCloud 10 preview
In the first release, you can have only one account by type ; so :
- one dropbox
- one box
- one skydrive
...
In a second release, I have planned to support multi-account for (dropbox, box and skydrive...)
Indeed, all long files operations (copy in local, donwloads, uploads) are in background and multi-threaded.
You can suspend, stop and resume each transfer tasks. Usefull, when the network connection fails ; you can continue the transfer later.
Background feature permits also to continue to browse the local or remote filesystem. (of course, if you browse a folder that you are removing, you can get error
)
I use this process to be able to add a new feature "bi-directionnel sync".

Just to let you know why the need for multiple accounts, I need to be able to send files to other box accounts plus have my own. I can't always make others change storage sites unfortunately

Re: PlayCloud 10 preview
Hi,
So you don't need to have multiple accounts ; you need simply to share easily your data with several people who have also a cloud account.
You will be able to do it with PlayCloud in using the share functions. (not visible in my screenshots)
Your way isn't very convenient... if you want share a video with 5 people, you have to upload the video on the 5 accounts

This is awesome dude!! Please keep up the good work!
Perhaps, you may also want to write up a post detailing your experience. It could mean a lot to other folks.Children of tomorrow live in the tears that fall today

Re: PlayCloud 10 preview
Hi,
In AppWorld 10, you can find an old release, AppWorld 10 refresh is long.
Here, you can find my last release :
http://www.progweb.com/PlayCloud.bar
Sample, this last release uses now EXIF metadata to read photos.
I continue my tests, but I think it's my final release for public release.
PlayCloud 10 is available in french, english, deutsh, polish and russian.
Of course a lot of improvements and new features are incoming and should be available for BB10 launch. But already, this release is more complete and efficient than PlayBook version.
