Haven't tried this one yet. I think it won't work, same like all the other ones.

    But I can try it
    Try before you die.

    Will do that..

Don't give up my friend. The "official last release for Dev Alpha A" from blackberry will STILL bring it back.

If not PM me and I'll buy it from you.

I've tried 10.2 and 10.2.1 and it didn't work. I had to go back. It seems Alpha A is no longer supported.

Didn't Alpha A have a different chipset than the others?

    Hi..
I've been keeping an eye on this thread for a while, whilst trying to give life to my Dev Alpha A
And I can confirm that any 10.2 OS won't work in Dev Alpha A (I've tried 3 different versions), the device won't even start (only blinking LED)
OS 10.1.1485 will work but no radio connectivity, dialer app won't start, other 10.1 version will cause reboots (just as confirmed by Huong Hoang)
I can run 10.0.263 and 10.0.648 as full OS on my Dev Alpha A.

And I just encounter one problem, whether I'm running 10.0.263 or 10.0.648, at some point my touchscreen would stop responding. Swipes and taps isn't recognized, and sometimes the screen goes crazy as if I was tapping the screen randomly. All I can do is force a reboot, and the screen goes back to normal. However in 1-2 days or so the same symptom reappeared and I had to force another reboot.

Did anyone ever encounter this problem?

Yes, that happens all the time on mine.

I've tried various options and it seems 10.1.0.1485 works best for me.

After finding someone with an old Dev Alpha A (I have the B but everyone's having problems with the dev Alpha A) I'm going to load the newewest one mentioned.

But you guys that have the 10.1.0.1485 working...WHERE A LINK?

    ANYTHING?

and is the "radio" working (as in cell phone call?)

I won't be able to try that because the one I bought for 0.1 bitcoin didn't have the sim tray. (too bad but still looks awesome!)

I have a Dev Alpha A that started throwing up the "Thanks for participating" message around Sept-Oct of last year and I hadn't really messed with it. Decided to give some of these a shot and see if I could get it back to life. Once again, only thing that worked for me was the 10.1.0.1485 build and I also loaded the 1483 applications from the STL100-2/3 autoloader.

I figured since some people were still looking for links I'd throw a few up here...

    Autoload-DevAlphaA_B-10.1.0.1485.rar

App files as BARs from 1483 only (ZIP file, extract and install all with Sachesi over fresh 1485 load)

Autoload_STL100-2and3_10.1.0.1483.498812.rar (Full autoloader the above zip was created from)

I've encountered the "Thanks for participating" message a few times, but holding the power button for 30 seconds clears that up for a single boot at least.

If anyone's willing to test this, I found some older OSs that should work on the Dev Alphas (assuming they haven't blocked any OS older than 10.1.0.1483):

    10.0.10.822: http://l.bitcasa.com/Nmz-HLxG
    10.0.10.927: http://l.bitcasa.com/cGbtXOMy
    10.1.0.1002: http://l.bitcasa.com/c9qBWkO0
    10.1.0.1483: http://l.bitcasa.com/xeLBDFD-

Woah. Tell me more sir. I need to know...

Now are these good for the Dev Alpha A? (do you know?)

The dev alpha B can be updated to 10.2.1.2102 with this link:
    http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-le...phones-905407/
(just choose the "STL100-1 Full autoloader" link)

The Q10 link works perfectly on the dev aplha C (DAC)

I found these lying around BlackBerry servers, it turns out that there's a lot more on there than just what Sachesi can see. 10.0.10.822 was only released for AT&T STL100-3s, and 10.0.10.927 and 10.1.0.1002 I've never even heard of before finding them, but they're on servers.

As for these files, they're STL100-1 files, so they should be compatible with the Dev Alpha A/B. Dev Alpha C/Q10 files also exist for these (all the way back to 10.0.9.1407, oddly enough).

I have no way of testing if these will work with the Dev A, as I don't have one. Due to the discovery of some security problems with 10.0, BlackBerry saw fit to block the installation of any OS older than 10.1.0.1483 after some point (I think it was 10.1.0.4xxx, not sure). To check, one can use cap.exe (or an autoloader) to figure out device info. If these are blocked, then it should look like this:

    OS Blocklist:

range: From 0.0.0.0 DEV To 255.31.31.8191 PROD

    type: Unsupported,Untrusted

range: From 0.0.0.0 DEV To 10.0.10.8191 DEV

    type: SFI

range: From 10.1.0.0 DEV To 10.1.0.1482 DEV

    type: SFI

range: From 4.0.10.0 DEV To 4.0.10.513 DEV

    type: MFI

range: From 4.0.11.0 DEV To 4.0.11.307 DEV

    type: MFI

range: From 127.0.0.0 DEV To 127.0.1.4892 DEV

    type: SFI

    Radio Blocklist:

range: From 0.0.0.0 DEV To 0.0.0.0 DEV

    Done.

You can't use either, you need a STL100-2/3/4 to run it.
