Has anyone tried yet to load OS2.1 on the Alpha Dev?
Hi, I am new to the forums, and I have received my own Alpha Device three days ago. I have been installing quite a few applications from the Playbook, or converted Bar's... as an example, Battery Guru works, as many others do.
Basically all the Android Apps working on the Playbook, also work perfectly on the Alpha Dev.
Given the huge similarities, I was wondering if anyone has attempted yet to install OS2.1 leaked OS on the Alpha Dev. That would be quite an accomplishment!!! - 06-01-2012, 04:35 PM #3

it's a different kernel running on the dev alpha bb10 kernel not playbook os 2.1 i think its also useless to try to run the 2.1 beta on dev device because i expect we see an unpdate soon for the dev alpha device
the best thing to do is extract the bars from 2.1 beta and install them on the dev alpha - 06-02-2012, 11:21 PM #8
Some of the .bars from the os2.1 beta work on the PlayBook. I sideloaded more than I should have and now my Dev Alpha is running like crap
lol.
I do recommend you sideload the sys.messages.bar, it runs very well. But I wouldn't advise loading more than that.
