    I'm getting a Dev device and the agreement seems to indicate that it's just a loan for some indeterminate period of time...

    This is a disclaimer.

    In truth they stay the property of blackberry. So if something happens and they recall them, we are obligated to send them back.

    But they won't. They have sent me about 8 or so for different things (rewards etc) and I've redistributed them to other developers. But I've been told they have no intention if bringing them back.
