If not creating a Native app, what is the purpose with 10.2.1? Will it show up in the HUB?

Why not use both. It's good to have options.

It will not show up in hub as you expect it. Not like Whatsapp for example.

I'm happy because can't use BBM on cellular data connection, somehow its blocked. I'm wondering why BB can't solve this.

    PS: I'm on Z30 with 10.2.1

Well I think it would be kind of naive for someone to not be happy Viber is coming to BB10. I personally don't use it, but I'm certainly glad it's going to be there for those that do use it. Anything to add apps into BlackBerry World, I'm for it.

Odd, which carrier? I am also on Z30 with 10.2.1 on Rogers in Canada and I successfully tested it both ways on Sunday to prove to a friend that it works either on cellular alone or Wi-Fi alone. It did. I have finally convinced him to install BBM. It was such a pain using SMS with only him..

Happy it's there for the people who want it.

    Will never use it.

    Disappointed it's a port.

I don't use Skype either, mostly because it's also a port.

Although I don't use it, it is still a good idea to have it, to reduce the app gap. Even though it is an android port, it opens up the way to make things happen

If this release of Viber is Built for BlackBerry (not Android) and gets ok reviews re: security, then I will install it immediately

Why? It is the preferred VOIP/IM platform for a lot of my contacts in SE Asia - a lot of these users are ex-BlackBerry but unfortunately most of them moved on to Android and Windows

I'll still keep BBM because it's excellent and a lot of my UK/US contacts still use it

Shame on Viber team (as well as on Microsoft for their Skype port) for not making it native!

Gosh, they don't even want to put some effort into making a decent app. A lot of people have been waiting for Viber for BB10 just to get a mere Android port in the end! That's just pathetic!

    Disappointed!

+1 the only reasons I don't use Skype or will use Viber is the fact they are not native

Pretty much putting in zero effort to port it. Don't bother I say. It could have been done ages ago. Why bother now? Went from we may go native, to nothing at all, now a crappy port.

Native or nothing..not like they're showing any love for BB10 doing it. I won't use it maybe some will. It's one thing to release a port it's another thing to actually support it. Not a one time release of a have arsed app.

It's available for me, but I'll never download it. I'd rather download the apk from Play Stores or anywhere else other than BB World, Since it took them more than a year to release a port.
