Xlabz question

I've purchased several xlabz apps for my playbook. Will they (dictionary+, currency converter etc.) be on bb10 and will I have to buy them again when I get my z10? I read earlier that if a dev used the same app ID then there would be no new charge for the app. Will this be the case for xlabz apps?

What did they tell you when you e-mail their support with your question?

Xlabz answered my question in another thread. You will have to re-purchase their apps on bb10.

That is what I would do too...

Even though many Playbook apps will run on BB10 without any modifications - "real" developers would not do that. BB10 have much more to offer - more APIs - more performance - different screen real-estate etc.. and to make PB apps look good - And to make them utilize the new features - the apps need to be re-worked. This takes time - and developers have families and bills as everyone else - and should get paid for the hard work.

Moving forward - The Playbook will also get BB10 -and one day we might get lucky where all BB10 devices run from the same binary code... But again - the apps must handle the different screen sizes... Look at some other platforms - a "x2" button to click on "Old" apps... don't really make a phone app any good on a tablet... just a cheap way of pumping up the number of available apps
