So, I'm sure you've all heard that Windows Live Messenger is shutting down and will no longer work. The problem is, my Blackberry doesn't support Skype and I am desperate to keep using Messenger to chat to international friends and family! Is there a way to keep Messenger or is there a reputable third option?

(Stats: I have a Blackberry 9320 with 7.1 bundle 1319. OS is not compatible with Skype, apparently)

Any help would be HUGELY appreciated!

    Not an actual solution.

OP, I think you are out of luck, because, IRC, Skype is a VZW exclusive.

Verizon Wireless, American carrier. They have Skype with voice calls for their customers. The app doesn't work on any other network.

Is IM+ available on your app world? That one supports messaging only.

Yea, I have contacts like that, too. They could easily install Yahoo messenger and Google Talk on their pc's. I have both on my BlackBerry and both work very well. Until BBM makes a desktop client, that's what I'm using with my contacts who don't have phones.

    That's a good idea. He'll have Skype.

But still, Google Talk and YIM! are free for those pc users who don't have phones and free from BlackBerry World for the BlackBerry user.
