Switched from Q5 with broken microphone to Q10. Wikipedia app is still running fine on Q5. I have done a lot of research, there is no chance to transfer apps between BB10 devices.

So i emailed Soluteo some days ago (their homepage still shows wikipedia for BB10). Still waiting for an answer...

Still no answer from Soluteo. So the bar-file would be nice.....

Wikipedia is audited so many time you would need the app to be regularly updated to make sure the information within it was up-to-date.

I doesn't work that way. The app is basically just a specialized web display. It pulls whatever the current information is directly from the website and displays it in the app.

The app itself doesn't hold any actual information.

The app hasn't been updated in maybe a year, yet if you open it, it shows the same "today's featured article" the website shows. And, any article you go to will be as current as you get on the website. If one was updated today, you will still see today's date on it in the app.

Do u need to open the files from file explorer instead of being detected in the folder?
Does links to articles work fine?
Or u need to search for each entry?

FWIW, Kiwix works great on my Passport: Home - Kiwix

It has been a while since I installed it, so I don't remember whether I had to go thru the file explorer, but if I did it is not difficult and you only have to do it once after installation.
The links in my copy don't work, I am not sure why, so I do need to search if I want to follow a link.

Hmm, according to http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...evice-1064221/ it doesn't seem like it's possible to extract bar files. I don't see any option in Sachesi either. If anyone knows of a way, tell me (using a PM, if needed) and I will share the requested bar file.
There's external software that gives the ability to extract any BB10 App onto your desktop PC. Just not sure it would be a Bar file or not.

Neither of those programs can actually extract an app from the phone. They load apps, but not extract.

The only reason I still use Soulteo's app is because of the dark reading option. Otherwise the mobile site is far superior.

In that case you may want to give Browsie Browser a try as it has a built-in Night Mode, both for websites and the reader mode
