What is the actual problem for whatsapp Inc to not to provide any further update?

Lack of API's most likely, the developer has mentioned them in the past (for things like call notifications) and their official statement kind of does as well.

While these mobile devices have been an important part of our story, they don't offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app's features in the future.

So why don't BlackBerry do so...while it supports it's flagship device running on Android.

WhatsApp has no reason to support a dying platform with a dwindling number of users. Period.

Disagree. Chen and company has done a great job rescuing the company from the brink of bankruptcy.

There are solutions that are on the forums here that *should* allow you to keep using Whatsapp on a BB10 device. It involves workarounds and some more complicated than others. That is what it means to keep a BB10 device functional.

BlackBerry has made 4 devices running the Android OS now and all of these devices are still fully supported. As for BB10 devices, we can just be thankful for the, albeit 'aged', Android runtime which allows us some of the possible workarounds that we do have.

You can curse the company if you want but there are still ways to use Whatsapp if you need them. However, expecting or hoping for an update catering to BB10 is pointless. You can still use it - I still do, personally - but that doesn't change the sad truth that BB10 is obsolete.

We have three companies building BlackBerry-branded devices now. It's only the beginning.

If this is true I only hope that a single one company deliver a good keyboard device but non so well protected, I mean rootable and hackable like most of android devices.

So, I got bored of the official OS, I can install cyanogenmod, or an hipoathetical ubuntu or sailfish port,..

I would love this, too. I'd like to be able to install an OS on the phone that I paid for.
