When I recieve a Whatsapp message, the app sometimes doesn't push the message right away when it is not open as an active frame. Sometimes it takes a minute to push, but sometimes 10 minutes. Sometimes I even have to open Whatsapp to recieve the message. I don't think this is normal. Is it a whatsapp issue or OS issue? I am on Q10 and 10.1.0.2342.

10.1.0.2342 was a notoriously bad OS. Have you thought of updating to a newer OS?

Well, I had the problem with every OS. i just always restarted whatsapp... after two or three times it should be fixed but after a certain amount of time the issue will come back. you can try reinstall the app or try restart your device

This is the newest OS my carrier (KPN NL) supports. I don't want to use leaked versions..

Yes, your device catches fire and then there is a risk of explosion if you do.

Every leak runs on a certain temperature, but of course, there is a max and a min. If toy go below the minimum temperature, the device just stops working. I believe on 10.1 leaks that would be below 15 degrees Celsius... But! If you go over the maximum temperature then things can get really bad; 25 degrees, if I'm not mistaken.

I remember seeing a post here where a fellow crackberry member got a 3rd degree burn on his leg because his phone catched fire.

Just because of that, there is now a disclaimer on every leak thread regarding this issue.
Every user has to operate their phones on a cool room with AC. Some have even macgyvered intercoolers for their phones.

But it's actually worth it once you experience the load of new features.

BUT SERIOSULY, why are leaks bad?

To answer your question, did you ever perform a restore to your device? If so, just delete Whatsapp, restart your phone, and reinstall it. The problem should be fixed.

Whatsapp is absolutely terrible with the latest MR update. I get zero notifications unless it's actually open in an active frame anymore, and no messages appear in the hub. They work through the app itself, but the hub shows zero messages for Whatsapp.

You need to delete and re download from app world. Do not run the restored version. Known bug that they are working on resolving.

Don't generalize. My Whatsapp pushes faster than my friends' iPhones and GS4s.

It's never been consistent or reliable on any of my devices. And my friends with iPhone and Galaxy devices simply tolerate it as well until bbm goes cross-platform. I'm not generalizing, it's second rate compared to bbm.

Guys, as mentioned previously, delete and re-install Whatsapp. This has been recommended by a Whatsapp representative himself. Furth explanation in his post here.

I tried this. I deleted, restarted the phone and re-installed whatsapp, but I still have the same problem

I have no problem with Whatsapp notification on 10.1MR. It works fine in the hub. I also never keep Whatsapp in the active frame. Most of the time replying messages in the hub only.

This problem is annoying. Messages are delayed sometimes more than an hour.

Will try to reinstall but think I have done so a couple of weeks ago already.

I believe this to be one of the biggest drawbacks of whatsapp. How can it be considered "instant" messaging when messages are delayed sometimes for hours. Perhaps we are spoiled by BBM.

Hopefully being addressed but this has been a major gripe for a lot of friends and family. If not fixed, perhaps BBM cross platform will fill the void.
