I contacted Whatsapp support and asked them if (not "when" - trying to sound naive) they were planning on bringing out an app for BB10. Here's the response:

Ok. Its been 7 days since release in Canada. Where's my whatsapp, so i can evangelize those whatsappers to BBM again.

We should also push BB to bring BBM to other platforms. Cross platform is where it's at.

I think WhatsApp will be what finally gets me to try sideloading an Android app. Don't know if I just want to wait patiently for BB10 version.

Anyway will be good practice since I want to sideload Pinterest onto wife's PlayBook.

Anyway, this news about a native WA for BB10 is fantastic.

I posted a threat saying the exact same thing like 2 months ago, if BBM goes cross-platforms, Whatsapp can kiss good bye !!

Watsapp is such a Crap app! I mean who really wants to be stalked by your fon number. Imagine ur ex ex ex being able to view ur pics status etc jus b cos she still has ur numba saved.

I can't lie I use it too to spk to others and am I'm patiently waiting for the bb10 but in reality its nonsense.

BBM shouldn't go cross platform I think ad that's a big selling point uniqueness with BlackBerry.

I received the exact same e-mail back from Whatsapp support last night. Good news it seems - and at least they are responding to requests - canned or not.
