Did the block contact button from the chat window went missing? I can't seem to find it and seems like now the only way to block someone is add them to contacts first?

No, it should still be there. Nothing in that area has been changed recently.

However, we only show that button if the contact isn't in your address book.

I was wondering if BlackBerry whatsapp has the separate assign tone for every contact or group. I have seen that feature with iphone users was wondering if BlackBerry has it or not?

That's odd. I was trying to block a spam number just now, I had to add it first then go through the settings menu.

EDIT: I just got another spam and need to add 2 more numbers. I can't find the button anywhere on the chat, just the "Add to Contacts" button:



The spam came in as a group chat, and I accessed the contact via the Group Settings and open the contact there.

Okay, it looks like we only show the Block/Add buttons for conversations with unknown contacts that already have messages in them. If you open a fresh chat screen, but have no conversation history, then those buttons are not visible. Since they do seem to be visible on Android, when doing the same thing, I've added fixing this to the to-do list.

Thanks. I guess why the spammer was using group chats instead, making it "harder" to block.

One more thing I was worried was that when I added the spammer, would it actually "confirm" my number is good? Basic principle of not responding to spam messages.

My Whatsapp is basically useless in the hub. Messages take too long to load...like 15+ seconds. I have to use the actual app to send messages quickly. And even in the app sometimes it take a little while to find my contacts when composing a new message.
