    I was not under the impression that there is only a 5 month trial period :s. I thought it was free to text. :s

    You get the app free for a year and once that's over you have to pay for the app (I think anyway)

    On the iPhone you have to pay up front to download the app.

    It is merely one dollar per year. In my opinion a very low price for a very good service.

    You should have the latest OS, for example I have 10.0.10.82

    Merely $1 a year for subscription. Texting is free; as in there is no charge from WhatsApp. But you must note that if you use it on cellular network, it uses your data plan. On wifi, it's free, even for overseas numbers.
