Strange. Has never crashed on me and I use it a lot. And the Google Play Services notification flashes quickly during app load, but goes away just as quickly without having to touch anything.

    Same here.

My problem with the app is that is cannot find my label photo. I tried it again the other day and took a photo with the app. It never found the photo to match. I then took a photo with the native camera app. It could not find that one either. I copied/moved the photos to a few other folders - no dice. So I just tried it again and now it finds the photo. So for some reason, photos immediately taken do not show up in "the gallery" for the match process.

But why remove it? I don't use the app but I think it is working as expected right?

    Posted via CB10
Because they probably don't want an older non updated app out their with their name on it. And they don't think it's worth it to update it.

    I hear you.

No question I too wish BlackBerry had the traction in the consumer space that would attract app developers. But, alas, I think that ship has sailed.

We can only hope that either BlackBerry catches on again one day, or the more likely scenario (at least in the short term) that the android runtime gets to a point where it wouldn't matter.

At least we can both enjoy drinking our wine in the meantime!

I'm indeed going to toast to visiting relatives tonight. 4 bottles in case. Just wish Vivino could come handy were it not taken off BlackBerry World.

I've found an alternative wine scanning app in Google Play called "DRYNC":

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...wirl.pro&hl=en

Seems to work good on Z30STA100-5/10.3.0.296

It is lacking the larger community ratings of Vivino, but good enough for my uses!

Load it up in SNAP everyone

I'm surprised this app carries listings for wine from British Columbia where usually wines coming from that wine region is relatively obscure internationally. Cool.

That's good to know. My father lives in the Okanagan, and I drink a lot of BC wines!

On our side of the border, it is spelled with an "o" as in Okanogan. And a major wild fire today has destroyed about 100 homes and taken out power lines for much of the area. But their wine is well-known.

In all seriousness, Vivino needs to pay attention cause I got quite a bit of scans using their app, but I'm seriously in need of a BlackBerry wine app because I do need it for both personal and work.

FYI - not sure why I didn't think of this before... but you can restore Vivino from a previous device backup in BB Link.

    1.) Backup & Restore
    2.) Restore Device
    3.) Choose a backup file
    4.) Choose Custom Restore
    5.) De-select all options
6.) Click "Show Details" next to Application Data
7.) Choose Vivino (or Vivino Pro) from the list
    8.) Click Restore

Your app will restore, device will restart & then you will have Vivino back! The only catch with this, is that you must have made a device backup using the latest version of Link which would backup apps in this way.

Here's a thought. Write Vivino again and ask if they would give permission to someone (like Nemory) to write a third party app? Vivino wins by not having to develop another native app and we win by getting another native app.

I have the latest version of Vivino (8.1.3 apk) working on 10.3.1 on my Passport! I had to patch it to remove the Google Play services, but it works great with all features fully functional.

Snap has it as well, but I prefer native. That's just me. I liked it so much natively. It's a world's difference.
