Anyone with an android device know if this the app is native? If so we know it won't run on 4.2.2 runtime. Tried to find out but can't get any info as blue stacks isn't working for me

Generally speaking if a app takes 9months to be released on a OS, which needs a minimum 4.0 to run, and has a special feature included, I'd bet highly it's natively coded. However 4.2.2 runtime should be able to run this on BB10.2 because of all the other minor additions the Runtime Update brings.

I thought native android couldn't run on 4.2.2 runtime due to BlackBerry not giving access to native libraries tied to Google accs?

That's what I read on here, can't find the thread to be linked

The jist of the thread was that 4.2.2 just improves performance through acceleration and other things and allows apps to run that required 4.0 minimum android OS

I know you are knowledgeable in tech kris due to your posts I have read etc. So I would love for u to explain this further if i have misunderstood

Does those minor additions include being able to run native code? Because that would be amazing, right?

You sure? I haven't heard anything about the new runtime being capable of emulating native code.

Here's the roadmap. I don't think they've ever said anything about native code.

The tooling updates one in June and one in Aug I believe are the updated they're making to adapt to running native coding

Tooling updates are related to the developer tools and eclipse plugins, nothing to do with native code support.
