VIKI available February 28?
I just found this this article with screen shots of the VIKI app for bb10. Can't wait for this to be available, the article says it should be released Feb 28.
First Look At The Personal Assistant App VIKI For BlackBerry 10 | BlackBerry Empire - 02-19-2013, 03:04 PM #3
it may perform just as well as siri, but the difference will lie in that siri is native and freely available for all iOS users, and VIKI will likely be a paid app. I will gladly eat my words if VIKI is free, because it looks to add quite a significant amount of features to my z10.

Interesting...This seems like a very well developed app but still i don't ear about the developers, could that mean maybe its bbry? In witch case this will be free. anyway if this could be like siri or better with a local database instead of always have to sync with the server for each and single peace of information its looking for, I'll gladly pay for that

Does anything think it could possibly be made into a native app with the upgrade that's bound to be coming?
I know it says its launching on the 28th but I think this is possibly another thing that's release will come hand in hand with the US - 02-23-2013, 12:32 PM #6
I thought VIKI was going to be a baked-in part of BB10?

I have a feeling that this is not going to be free... in fact, I'm thinking they are going to charge like $10 for it. Mark my words.
On the other hand, the native BB assistant is not great in the car (where I really use it); I think the background hum of the car/traffic, etc. makes it difficult for it to recognize my commands. I'd say it's about 90% accurate with commands though, but about 70% accurate with text and bbm messages. Maybe I have to say "comma" or punctuation marks... I don't know... I know I tried to say: "Running a bit late, sorry, the roads are $ hit" (the real word of course), and all it came up with was "Your message says: '$ hit' Do you want to send?" Hahaha. NO!
Will I pay $10 for VIKI... it depends on the reviews, but if good, I would.Innovation requires a partnership, the user and the maker have to be willing to change to achieve it.

I think I read that if you say question mark or period etc that it will put in the proper punctuation.

i put my email in for the free opportunity. FB page is live and running, it looks like they just made there twitter and never did anything with it. Not sure what is happening or what to expect. We need a better voice software. SayIt (for me at least) wasn't good at all, and voice control has a whole lotta nope. V1ki was lookin like the ticket. My only thought is perhaps the US launch is what they are timing for? the website being updated shows activity.
