What if they're updating the BB10 Twitter app itself? It's made by Twitter so they won't change anything at their end and not update its apps.

I retract my earlier statement. What you're saying, however, assumes they didn't choose to break the BB10 app because they placed an internal change higher in their list of priorities.

And don't think for one moment Twitter isn't capable of incompetence, like not catching this problem before an internal update and being unable to undo the update without losing millions of tweets made after the fact.

I have two Twitter Apps on my Z10. One is the BB10 version and the other is a Android Version that I side loaded.
The BB10 version has not be working for over 2 hours now. The Android version is working.

Well we are on a BB10 Twitter discussion, can anyone actually send Direct Messages on their BB10 Twitter App? It never works for me. Works just fine on the Android version.

Seems to be isolated to the Z10 Twitter app. I see no complaints anywhere online. The site still works, everyone else is using it. Odd.
Twitter apps are working on my previous BlackBerry through wifi and apps on my playbook are working as well.

I have no problem sending direct messages on my BB10 twitter app. What sort of problems are you having with it? You can try to send it but it won't be received on the other end?

Just a guess, given how **** poorly social media sites are at communicating changes to their application "partners", I'd say twitter changed something on their end and didn't notify BlackBerry. I saw Michael Clewey tweeting earlier, he's proven to have his finger on the pulse in the past, it's hard to believe he or BlackBerry wouldn't tweet a heads up if they knew an outage was imminent.

It's frustrating to no end that the end users equate such outages to issues with the platform, not the service itself. Case in point, the PlayBook still being unable to display profile pictures in Facebook. 100% that was a change made on Facebook's end, and that just hasn't been fixed, ever. Zuckerberg needs a kick in the nuts for that one.

Any idea if other platforms are having issues, anyone?

I agree and no updates from Blackberry. I wonder what the issue is.

I've been holding off for Blaq to arrive but I caved and got Neatly. So far it's doing what it needs to do and it's much better than accessing twitter through the mobile site.

One thing to note is that, AFAIK, the Twitter app is made fully by Twitter themselves, meaning they screwed up somewhere, not BlackBerry. Just shooting it out there. Like the blogs say, an update is coming this afternoon after BlackBerry became aware of the issue and reached out to Twitter about it. So it seems like BlackBerry did everything right here.
