It shuts down right after selecting your login method. If anyone knows a solution let me know!

It's not working for me either, perhaps the developer needs to update the program for 10.2.

Same here . I've tried sideloading every apk/bar I can find online and the farthest I've gotten to is the login page (crashes after entering credentials).

Crossing fingers for an update soon.

Fongo works reasonably well sideloaded on 10.2 and they allow you to port in a number... perhaps you can port in your textnow number if you need to keep it.

I was just playing around and if you put your browser in "desktop mode" you can access your textnow sms on their website. Definitely not ideal but hopefully it can hold you over until we get an update.

has 10.2 gone official yet? I am not sure. but of not then the app developer does not need to do anything. developers dont and should not debug for beta os's.

100% true I was just pointing out what this issue was. I know I had to update my app for 10.1.

Of course they don't have to, but 10.2 is just around the corner and if they're keeners they'll want to get on it asap. I hope they're keeners

Edit: apparently the developers at Say It are keeners... they launched their updates to support 10.2 today.

Edit: Never mind, you were talking about Say It.

Are you saying they released a version that runs under 10.2? Which version is it/where can I find it? Haven't found one compatible with the 1259 leaked version.

I actually found an ancient version of TextNow I had backed up that does work, although with some issues. The version is 1.0.5.0. The issue is that the conversations do not seem to auto-refresh. I had some luck with using the refresh option in the menu, but the experience hasn't been ideal. If anyone finds a later version that works, please let us know.

Can anyone answer why text now downloaded fine but when I try to open it, it opens for 2 seconds then crashes back to my home screen? How do I fix this?

I don't know of a workaround. I put up a problem ticket with TextNow about this today. No info yet.

Workaround found, older version. I found it on Aptoide. You need to install Aptoide Market app in order to do the install.
You can browse older versions here:
Android Application Versions | Aptoide Mobile - Own Your Android Market
    I was successful with v1.2.1
Note: I only use TextNow for SMS and MMS. I do not believe the calling features ever worked on BB10, did they?

@Glow123 thanks. I am seeing it on the aptoide web link but unable to download the apk from there. Also not getting to install from the aptoide app either.

    Any suggestions?

I used the Aptoide website as the starting point. If my link doesn't work properly for you, search for TextNow on the site, then select '+ versions' to take you to the listing of versions available. I was able to initiate the download from there (I believe you need to have your browser in the default mobile mode, not desktop), and it then prompted me to install via the Aptoide market app which I already had installed.
    Good luck.
Unfortunately the versions that work don't seem to be very well integrated with BB10. I have to go to the conversation list, then settings, then refresh to pull in new messages. I really hope they come out with a new version that works! My ticket with them is marked as 'currently being processed by our staff'.
