    Hmm.... That's an interesting idea, pick up a cheapie Android device so it can be used with the google store. Can you access to the google store using wifi since I would not want to activate it for data/phone? I've never really seen the "inner workings" of an android device - can you just find the apk files and copy them off?

    No, I meant download it directly from Google Play on your computer using an extension for Google Chrome.

    I installed Square Register on a friend's Android phone and there's no "Activate reader" feature in the app.

    Regardless, it scanned a card on my Z10 the first time I used it and I was able to complete a $1 test transaction via swiping. Remove and reinsert the reader and it's not detected.

    I've had com.squareup_66.bar side loaded onto 10.1 and everything works fine, works with or without card reader. Never asked me to activate anything.
    Kind of scared to go to 10.2 for fear of having this and other side loaded apps not function. I need this for business!
    I've downloaded com.squareup_v3.2.11.107.bar as suggested above.
    Can't seem to pull the trigger. Guess I'll never know until I try.
