i use it on my z10 6 days a week and have since i got it at launch....i sideloaded square from a link i got here. it loaded up my previous transactions and works like a charm.

Can someone please post the bar file, thanks.

I side loaded the converted Android app on my PlayBook. I signed in and it had the list of previous transactions. It recognized the swipe attachment too. I haven't tested an actual transaction though. Square should publish it to BB World.

So does mean the card reader/ jack works on the PB? If yes, does this mean the propay reader works on the PB as well?

PayAnywhere worked with my old blackberry torch, but so far I can't get it to work on the z10.

just sideloaded it and put the card reader in for a test. works like a charm. *Note: must be running OS 10.1 or higher for the card reader to work. If less than 10.1 the card reader will not work, but the rest of the app will (you would just have to manually key in the card number)

Has anyone got the square credit card reader to work on the q10, it worked well sideloaded on my z10 but not having luck with the q10 as when I swipe the card it doesn't read it.

I sideloaded the Square app and did a $1 test transaction. Works fine.

I just got the Square reader today and the app doesn't show it connected when it clearly is. Any tips? Thanks!

The reader won't work on the PlayBook. It requires a headset port (input/output) instead of a headphone port (audio out only). The jack on the PlayBook doesn't include a microphone. You can still use the app for manual input.

On the Z10, at the end of the swiping tutorial, it has a test swipe routine. The first time I connected the reader, it didn't work until I did the test routine.

Ok, I installed the app and signed in on a friend's Android phone. Plugged the reader in and it detected it.

Back into my phone and it's not seeing it.

From the main screen, click on the person on the top bar. That will bring up the settings screen. Scroll down to the bottom and there is the How to Swipe tutorial. Have the reader fully plugged in first.

The version of Square I'm running is 2.3.2 on my Z10STL100-3/10.1.0.2025.

Just did a test swipe and it is still working for me.

That might be it then. I had to use 3.2.2 because the older one wouldn't take a Canadian address.

Do you know where I can find 2.3.2? I deleted it when I figured out I couldn't enter a Canadian address in it, but if it means I can activate the reader then I'll give that a go.

I got one at Good e Reader but the link seems to be broken now. I guess I need to try 2.3.2.

This is frustrating. I wish companies would just support the platform instead of help propel BlackBerry into the mess they're in now.

Finally got it, if I'm not mistaken it is the vs 1.0.75.0 and it's working great with my Z10 running OS 10.1.0.4200 (T-Mobile), tested app, reader and transaction as well.....I've been going @ 100 mph a minute pace and somehow I misplaced the link but I do have the BAR file and would be more than happy to send it to whoever needs it., just PM me, it's only 3.58 MB......Have a good one !

Hello again, sorry to hear that, I was having a similar issue with the previous version that I had, back then I was running OS 10.0.10.85. Then I found this other one which just worked, now I'm running OS 10.1.0.4200 if that is in any way relevant to the issue, not really sure....... Herewith some pics:

The OS is slightly different. I'm running OS Version 10.1.0.4633 (Software Release 10.1.0.4181)

I did a reset on my phone (holding power button down through the reboot cycle) and the Square reader is now detected.

I did a $1.00 test transaction with my CC and the Square app crashed just as it asked for a signature. A second attempt worked OK.

Silly Android.
