Looks like there's a developer making a native SnapChat app. Still in early development & won't be able to download from BB World. Sideloading will be the route for now.

Wow! Nice nice nice! I was just asking the whine dev if he could make a snapchat client and now this pops up! So cool first igrann then whine and now this.

But he did say that it's only receive and no upload. Hopefully what he meant was that upload is not implemented yet. And man I hope snapchat doesn't file for violation. I know the dev is willing to let us sideload the bar file, but this needs to be on BlackBerry World!

Wow this would be amazing if we could get a fully functional third party snapchat app. The sideloads is sluggish and lacking big time.. a pain to use

I checked his twitter and Saunders basically suggested that he shouldn't try to make it on BlackBerry World because it would be removed since "Snapchat" would make complaint.

I guess we all use Sideload route then =)). I hope the app is finished. But do you think he can get around the rules?

So BlackBerry can't attract the big developers and won't allow the 3rd party developers to flourish as the WPstore does..... this company is idiotic, apps and ecosystem is why it is failing dramatically, I just can't understand them

Why does Microsoft allow these apps but BlackBerry does not?

    That's exactly my thought!
If they keep acting like this they're basically willing for their own fail.
    WHY?

The reason why MS allows these apps is because Microsoft is one of the big three titans. Big App makers would be stupid to mess with Microsoft. hence is why they don't mess with the WP app store and let them release an app. But MS gives money and helps big app players develop apps for their
store. They can mess with Blackberry because they aren't powerful and massive as Microsoft, Apple and Google

It's like this. Microsoft gives Third party developers a chance to earn money (e.g 6tag) and then they let the third party developer know that they are with the big players to develop an official app. My friend is like this. MS let him know that they were going with the big players and gave my friend a chance to earn a little more profit.

It's mostly about the amount of power your company has

The reason is simply because the apps get submitted and stay on there until a takedown request by the company in question is sent to Microsoft.
Same happens with BlackBerry. They will allow any app if they are sure it doesn't violate any third party's TOS. If they know it will, they will never allow it. Which is normal and standard practice that's followed by everyone.

The Dev was better off not asking Alec Saunders about it and just submitting it to the App World it would have been approved and it would've stayed in the App World until a takedown request was received (if any). He practically blew it himself, no need to point the finger at BlackBerry. Intellectual Property is protected by law and all they do is comply, as will Apple, Microsoft and Google if something of the sort happens.

To get it into App World, the best the dev can do is contact SnapChat and ask if they will allow it to exist as an independent 3rd party app. If he somehow gets approval from SnapChat BlackBerry will add it without any problem...

Will yours be built in Cascades and have upload? I agree with one of the posters here. Don't tell any of the BlackBerry executives and just submit it to BlackBerry World.
