No, he tweeted out last night that he's working on a fix and will have it out ASAP. I wouldn't call that "crickets." Whether the fix comes out quickly or not is another story. We'll have to wait and see.

Installed the update on my Passport (3.0.0.1) and it's still not working. It now lets me log in w/o getting stuck in the re-login loop but all tabs are still blank. On my mum's Passport it does work fine after updating.

Edit: after re-installing AGAIN on my Passport it works fine now. Not sure why it's all so troublesome but oh well, I'm just glad it works now.

That's really great he got it fixed so quickly. I'm impressed. Now, if only he'd bring back the ability to save the apk's.

That's why it's not of much use to me. That alone makes Cobalt's solution a must. More and more apps are breaking all the time.

I just got an update notice that a newer version of SNAP Vers 3 is out and just got done downloading it. It is Vers 3.0.0.1 and is considerably larger than the initial release of 5 Meg, as this is 11 Meg. I have yet to install as I'm not near a computer but wanted to let folks know it's out.

Version 2 saves the apks and that is one reason why I've not upgraded Snap. Also version 2 looks like a BB10 app with "dark" UI.

Yeah, eventually it won't matter. The old apps and the new apps will eventually not work and it will finally be time to move away from BB10. For now, I continue to use v2 of Snap as it still works for me. When it stops then I'll look at other options. I need this version for my wife's phone, otherwise I will continue to just email updated apk's to her. I always try new versions of apps on my device first, anyway.

Would you say the same if you were forced to use version 3?

I think you misunderstood. He doesn't think v3 is of much use to him due to it not saving the apk's. I think the three of us agree here.

Yes I would. My order of preference goes like this : Snap V2-----Snap V3------Cobalt's GPS solution. Nice to have choice.

I am going to buy v3 just to support him and since my wife needs the update. Hopefully, he will add that feature in the future. I tweeted him the question but I've never gotten any reply from him on anything. V3 won't go on my device until v2 stops working.

Just one tiny example of why newer isn't always better. This goes for any app. We are Pavlovian for updates these days. There is an update so I MUST download it. I really like to read changelogs and if I don't see anything that appeals to my needs, I just don't bother anymore. There will come a day, probably sooner than later, that V2 won't work properly and I will also update if I haven't already changed my device entirely.

Confirmed that update to version 3.0.0.1 was just released. I installed with Sachesi and it seems to be now allowing download and install. I have not had a chance to check all of my apps, however, to see if they are working properly.

Whether the apps you download work or not has very little to do with Snap itself.

    Yes.

I just feel that not being able to keep a repository of previously working apps makes v3 utterly unsuitable for the predicament that BB10 finds itself in.

Precisely. I keep two or three previous versions of my apps just in case.
