Great...was hoping sooner than later. Just so that it would put a stop to "where is Skype" posts.

Q10 releases this week, meaning Skype will be available for the Q10 owners but the Z10 owners have to wait 2 weeks.

Atleast that's what I got from the video..
How about the people that have already installed the latest 10.1 leak for the Z10?

I am curious and have been tempted to try loading 10.1 onto my Z10 to see if the Sideloaded skype would work, hasn't till now. Or will we have to wait for the BBW skype? Obviously it would not have the hub integration.

It does not matter if this is how it got on blackberry. It matters that it works imo.

    1. He never said there was anything wrong with the port.
    2. He meant BlackBerry. They did say it was coming and going to be on there. It was Microsoft's fault, but BlackBerry DID say it was going to be there.

    How about the BB10 integration?
    - Can I dial from the addressbook?
    - Am I callable all time or do I need to fire up Skype first?
    - What abou the other Voice apps like Viber, how do they integrate?
    - Is there any SIP/XMPP clients offering voice&video as well and are tightly integrated?

The reason for asking this is that I can do all this above with my old Nokia N9 and I don't want to make a switch back to stoneage where I have to start an application to be able to make and receive calls. (This is no ad for the N9, I'm seriously interested in BB10 but these things are crucial for me!)

Actually I have 10.1 I'm not going to try to sideloading Skype as I want to stay away from that now (battery issue with side loaded apps) but it doesn't appear yet in BlackBerry world. I assumed that since the 10.1 update will come about 2 weeks after the q10 launch, that once the q10 is out I should be able to see the app in bb world as I have the 10.1 already.

Regarding hub integrated features, Skype and blackberry confirmed a while ago that it would be added even when the first Android port version of the app comes out.

If all the popular apps are gonna be ports, isn't bb10 going to be permanently living in android's shadow? Get rid of the dam android player already.

None of the available bar files work on the leaked OS. However, with Skype almost here, no harm in waiting another couple of weeks.

You sort of have the 10.1. The 10.1.0.XXXX is a leaked OS with some bugs still in place. When the official release comes out, I am sure the version on the phone will be updated.

As an aside, I have had no battery issues with sideloaded apps on the leaked platform
