Hi, All,

I just read the news. I will not change backing service running behind Skooday because of multiple reasons:

1) There is no guarantee that other service will not go down eventually. It is not trivial to choose the one to use as well.

2) It requires time to support other service.

3) Many of remaining market players are commercial entities and I don't want to work for them for free. In the end they can release BB10 app themselves and kick my app out by simply limiting API access to my app.

4) Writing my own ex.fm clone is not alternative as well. I can do technical side but I don't see viable financial model here.

5) I believe that BlackBerry lost mobile game.

That basically means that Skooday is dead. Thank you for all your support and it is fun to have such the amazing users.

I'm unhappy that I leave you without any alternative but there is not much I can do. I would advice into looking for HTML5 capable music streaming site. BB10 has amazing browser. You can check if Grooveshark Mobile is working for you. It is not the same as having native app but better than nothing.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Years for everyone! Don't let negative things to cloud all the positive you have in your life.

Every time ex.fm goes down Skooday app gets bunch of 1-2 stars reviews and that affects download numbers (or at least it looks like so). In any case my main problems are not Skooday related. Depending on how I will resolve my problem depends situation of Skooday.

In the worst case I can sell it to other developer or make it open source but it is too early to make such decision.

Most obnoxious developer.

Just calm down. I still may write BlackBerry app or game as BlackBerry has superb HTML5 support (https://developer.blackberry.com/html5/) - I simply can't write ex.fm replacement and it is somewhat hard to justify writing app dedicated purely to BlackBerry 10.

Just calm down. I still may write BlackBerry app or game as BlackBerry has superb HTML5 support (https://developer.blackberry.com/html5/) - I simply can't write ex.fm replacement and it is somewhat hard to justify writing app dedicated purely to BlackBerry 10.

Had a great time working with you for the features of Skooday on the Skooday BBM group. Hope you can still make 3rd party HTML5 Web apps for those app developers that don't want to make BlackBerry 10 apps

Nah it's not as reliable as Skooday. Skooday's much smoother and there's a bug that pops it's ugly head now and again which is that when you play a track the track starts half way through which is quite annoying. Other than that there's a few additional features such as trending music. Overall the Exfm app is a 'watered down' version of the website. Hope that helps!

I will wait for more solid news. They said that they will not close ex.fm now but question is what will they do. Let's wait a little bit. I don't want to disappoint everyone again where I don't have any control.

Yeah that's a good idea but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to stick it back into BlackBerry World. Hopefully we won't be waiting too long. I think they mentioned selling it in the article.
